Casino Wheel
Casino Wheel – Roulette is a casino game named after the French word for little wheel, which probably originated from the Italian game Biribi. In the game, the player can choose to bet on a single number, different groups of numbers, the color red or black, whether the number is odd or even, or whether the numbers are large (19–36) or small (1–18).
To determine the winning number, the dealer spins the wheel in one direction and then spins the ball in the opposite direction around an inclined circular path that goes around the outer edge of the wheel. The ball eventually loses its mother, passes through the baffle area and lands on the wheel and enters one of the thirty-seven (single zero, French or European Roulette) or thirty-eight (double zero, European-style American Roulette) or thirty-nine (triple zero , “Sand Roulette”)

The first form of roulette was invented in France in the 18th century. Many historians believe that Blaise Pascal introduced a primitive form of roulette in the 17th century in search of a perpetual motion machine.
The roulette mechanism is a hybrid between the game wheel created in 1720 and the Italian game Biribi.
A primitive form of roulette, known as “EO” (Ev/Odd), was played in a gland in the late 18th century using a game wheel similar to that used in roulette.
It has been played in its first form since 1796 in Paris. An early description of the game of roulette in its current form is found in the French novel La Roulette, ou le Jour by Jacques Lablee, which describes the roulette wheel at the Palais Royal in Paris in 1796. The description included home pockets, “ there. exactly two slots are reserved for the pot, from which it derives its only mathematical advantage.” It goes on to describe a layout with “…two betting places containing two pot numbers, zero and double zero”. The book was published in 1801. Earlier mention of the game this name was published in the regulations for New France (Quebec) in 1758, which prohibited the games of “dice, hoca, faro and roulette”.

Roulette wheels used in Parisian casinos in the late 1790s had red for a single zero and black for a double zero. To avoid confusion, the heavy color has been chosen for the zeros on roulette wheels since the 1800s.
In 1843, in the German spa town of Bad Homburg, fellow Frenchmen François and Louis Blanc introduced the unique 0-style roulette to compete with other casinos that offered the traditional pocket wheel for single and double zero houses.
In some forms of early American roulette, there were numbers from 1 to 28, plus one zero, double zero, and American eagle. The Eagle slot, which was a symbol of American freedom, was a house slot that gave the casino an extra edge. Soon the tradition also disappeared because the wheel only has numbered slots. According to Hoyle, “A single 0, a double 0, and an eagle are never bars; but when the ball falls into either of them, the banker sweeps away everything on the table, except what should be bet on either of them, He pays twenty-sev for one, which is the sum paid for all the sums on which bet single digit”.
In the 19th century, roulette spread throughout Europe and the USA, becoming one of the most famous and popular casino games. When the German government abolished gambling in the 1860s, the Blanc family moved to the last remaining legal casino operation in Europe, Monte Carlo, where they established gambling meccas for Europe’s elite. Here, the single zero wheel became the main game, and over the years it was exported all over the world, except to the United States, where the double zero wheel remained dominant.

In the United States, the double-zero Frch wheel has moved up the Mississippi from New Orleans and westward. Here, due to rampant cheating by operators and players alike, the wheel is probably placed above the table to prevent devices from being hidden in the table or wheel, and the betting layout is simplified. This eventually evolved into the American style roulette game. The American game was developed in gambling in new territories where improvised games were created, while the French game evolved with style and leisure in Monte Carlo.
In the early part of the 20th century, the only known casino cities were Monte Carlo with the traditional zero-zero wheel and Las Vegas with the American two-zero wheel. In the 1970s, casinos began to flourish around the world. In 1996, the first online casino, believed to be InterCasino, made it possible to play roulette online.
By 2008, there were several hundred casinos around the world offering roulette games. The double zero wheel is found in the USA, Canada, South America and the Caribbean, while the single zero wheel is widespread elsewhere.
The sum of all the numbers on the roulette wheel (from 0 to 36) is 666, which is the “Number of the Beast”.

Roulette players have different betting options. Inside betting means either choosing the exact number of pockets the ball will land in, or a small spread of pockets based on their proximity on the layout. Players who want to bet on the “outside” will choose to bet on higher pocket position groups, pocket color or whether the winning number is odd or even. The payout odds for each type of bet are based on its probability.
A roulette table usually imposes minimum and maximum bets, and these rules are usually applied separately to all of a player’s inside and outside bets for each spin. For internal roulette table bets, some casinos may use separate roulette table chips of different colors to differentiate between players at the table. Players can continue to place bets as the ball spins around the wheel until the dealer announces “no more bets” or “ri va no plus”.
Once the roulette wheel has determined a winning number and suit, the dealer will place a marker, also known as a dummy, on that winning number on the roulette table layout. When the dummy is on the table, no player can place bets, collect bets or remove bets from the table. The dealer will void all other losing bets, either manually or via rake, and determine all payouts for the remaining inside and outside winning bets. When the dealer finishes paying, the marker is removed from the board where players collect their winnings and make new bets. Winning chips remain on the board.
By law, the game must use cards, not roulette slots, to select the winning number.

The European-style layout has a single zero, and the American-style layout is usually a double zero. The American-style roulette table with one wheel on d is now used in most casinos because it has a higher house edge compared to the European layout.
A French-style table with a center wheel and aspect on either side is rarely found outside of Monte Carlo.
A bet on three numbers that include at least one zero: 0-1-2 (either in one layout); 0-2-3 (only one zero); 0-00-2 and 00-2-3 (double zero only)
