The brand, founded by Texas gambling icon and casino magnate Benny Bunyan and later run by his son Jack Bunyan, is often associated with its customer service.
“(Jack Binnen) built a casino for the gambler and the player, and that’s what he was known for: the best odds, the highest limits, the biggest jackpots,” said Grigorek, who began working on the property in 2020. . “We’ve embraced it through all of our horse shows across the country. The Las Vegas tie-in will resonate with our guests and athletes as well as new athletes who can experience it at the Las Vegas Strip.”
Renovation of the 2,810-room property will begin this spring with the poker room before branching out to the casino floor and other public areas.

It’s not the first name at the nearly 50-year-old property, which opened in 1973 as the original MGM Grand Hotel and Casino before being sold in the mid-1980s.
Another change came soon after Caesars Entertainment began to distance itself from the Bali name, selling the brand to the company formerly known as Twin Rivers Worldwide Holdings in 2020.

Grigorek said one of the most exciting aspects of the casino’s rebranding is the reunification of the World Series of Poker with the Horse Show. The original Horseshoe Casino – now Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel – hosted the first World Series of Poker in 1970.
After decades in downtown Las Vegas and 17 years in Rio, the tournament will be held from May 31 to July 19 at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
“I think it will be really exciting to have the World Series of Poker players actually on the Las Vegas strip,” Grigorek said. “I think it increases the prestige of the tournament.”
Caesars plans to expand the property’s poker room and call it a World Series of Poker room before the tournament begins.
