According to the invitation, two ministers of state will attend the opening of the casino: Ugen Gyatso, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, and Public Works Minister GM Gurung, Minister of Culture and Heritage.

The announcement came almost six months after Delta Corp. was granted a temporary license to operate a casino in Gangtok.
The hospitality company announced in April a partnership with Hotel Welcome Heritage Denzong Regency for a venture in Sikkim. As part of the partnership, the hotel will sell the gaming space to Delta Corp. tenant, who in turn “will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the new casino.” Three months later, Delta Corp. Delta Corp originally planned to complete the renovation in three months to make the site “casino ready” by the end of 2016, and planned to offer about 150 gambling positions at its new gaming facility.
