Monaco Casino

Monazzo Cassino – The Casino de Monte-Carlo has been a landmark in Monaco’s history for centuries, its charm and exclusive atmosphere attracting visitors from all over the world. The casino itself captures the grandeur and mystery of Monte Carlo. Our silk designer Jérôme Faillant-Dumas was inspired by the historic facade of Monaco’s Casino Silke de Grace as a backdrop.

Built by Parisian architect Gobineau de la Bretonnerie, this iconic landmark opened in 1865. In 1875, the spectacular building was transformed and expanded to include the Opera de Monte-Carlo, designed by the famous architect Charles Garnier. It is home to Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, a classical ballet company founded in 1985 by Princess Caroline of Monaco to honor the wishes of her mother, Princess Grace.

Beautifully built in the Belle Epoque architectural style, the casino is a perfect work of art, reflecting the grandeur of this golden age of cultural and artistic prosperity. A distinctive style combining elegance and sophistication, the exterior facade is as attractive as the interior. Inside, intricate stained glass windows, ornate sculptures and dramatic chandeliers add to the charming ambiance, while expansive gardens and terraces contribute to the idyllic outdoor setting.

Apart from the architectural marvels, the casino’s rich cultural heritage is a major attraction. Since its opening, the Monte Carlo Casino has hosted royalty, world dignitaries and celebrities. Its impressive design is an inspiration for other casinos, as well as a popular setting for movies and music videos. The fictional British detective James Bond is often associated with the famous gambling house, and some of the 007 movies were filmed in Monaco and its casinos.

In 2021, H.S.H. Prince Albert II, along with the Princess Grace Foundation, hosted the second world premiere of “No Time to Die,” the 25th chapter in the James Bond film franchise, directed by Princess Grace Carey Award winner Joji Fukunaga. The glamorous event and red carpet screening took place at the Casino de Monte Carlo and paid tribute to the late Sir Roger Moore, who was also a dear friend of Princess Grace. The film was screened at the Opera House CE (Salle Garnier), where the scent of the Promenade sur le Rocher wafted through the air.

All Grace of Monaco products feature vintage design elements associated with Princess Grace and Monaco. Jérôme Faillant-Dumas wanted to discreetly adorn our luxurious Casino Silk, an iconic symbol of Monaco’s nightlife. Gold floral elements border the scarf, paying homage to the natural beauty of the French Riviera and Princess Grace’s love of flowers. Rediscover this classic accessory and the design inspiration behind our silk scarves and houndstooth. All our silks are hand checked and finished in Italy using age old craftsmanship techniques.

With opulence at every turn, Casino de Monte Carlo evokes a sense of grandeur from the start. Its architecture, history and prestige continue to inspire with its timeless connection to luxury and its glamorous nightlife. Casino founder François Blanc once said, “We must not do anything here as it is done elsewhere.” The image of James Bond has become inseparable from the Monte Carlo Casino, which, with its Belle Epoque architecture, is a reference for gambling and entertainment not only in Europe but worldwide.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a big gamer in general, but I think this is something you have to do at least once. Although there are a few casinos to choose from, I wanted to go to the world famous Casino de Monte-Carlo (also known as Casino de Monte-Carlo).

My overall gambling experience in Monaco was very positive. Even though it was kind of intimidating, I’m glad I was able to go and enjoy it. Maybe it helped that I made a little money! I couldn’t find much information about gambling in Monaco before I left on my trip, so I wanted to post this blog to help other people. Also, the pictures below were taken at the premiere of James Bond, so if you’re wondering if this is always the case, it’s not.

From what I found, there are two major differences between gambling in Monaco and Las Vegas. First, the legal playing age in Monaco is 18, while in Vegas it is 21. Second, there is an entry fee to enter the Monte Carlo Casino. I’m not sure if this applies to all casinos, but if you want to bet on it, you have to pay. The third is the casino settings. In particular, in the case of Monte Carlo Casino, there are some rooms if you want to play some games. So in Las Vegas, I feel like everything is outdoors and everything is connected. The last big difference I noticed was how small the casino actually was. I thought it would be a big mega casino, but it turned out to be really small. I think it’s more about the quality of the experience than the quantity.

When I went (September 2021), entry to the Monte Carlo Casino was €17
